Upgrade of Air Conditioning Systems at Client’s Offices
Upgrade of Air Conditioning Systems at Client’s Offices
Project Type | Mid wall Split Unit Installation |
Client Location | George Western Cape |
Duration | 15 Days |
Project Size | 20 Units |
Removal of old air conditioners, installation of 20 new air conditioner units, including installation of electrical isolators, outdoor unit security cages, a new electrical distribution box, and full system commissioning for optimal performance. The project was executed by 2 teams for efficient completion.
The client operates several offices. In one of the office blocks, the aging air conditioning system was experiencing operational issues, leading to difficulties in maintaining consistent indoor temperatures across administrative offices, control rooms, and equipment storage areas. The facility faced challenges due to harsh environmental conditions and outdated cooling systems, impacting overall operational comfort and efficiency.
The client informed us of a high risk of theft at the office block location. In response, we had to implement measures to secure the outdoor units of the air conditioning systems to prevent theft and ensure the protection of the equipment.
To address the high risk of theft as informed by the client, we built strong steel cages to secure the outdoor units of the air conditioning systems. This measure was implemented to protect the equipment from theft and ensure the integrity and functionality of the installed systems.
Initially, a site survey was conducted to assess airflow requirements, structural constraints, and electrical infrastructure. A custom design was then developed to balance load distribution and match cooling demands across different areas (e.g., higher capacity for equipment rooms). Installation was carried out in phases. Additionally, staff were trained on system operation and maintenance to ensure effective use and upkeep of the new air conditioning systems.
The project yielded effective outcomes. Outdoor units of the air conditioning systems were properly secured against theft. With the improvements made, sever room equipment is now working properly without issues of overheating. Staff members in the offices are working more efficiently and comfortably in the cooler office spaces, contributing to enhanced overall operational performance.
